Caption 1: Western Street in Chicago, depending on where you are, is lined with used auto lots. I found this particularly fascinating that the family owned lots are able to stay open for so long. Car Town Inc. on 850 N Western, Chicago, Illinois, USA is one of these lots. I always pass the lot but never took notice of the cool vintage sign until we had friends visiting from California who were amazed by it. I found this particular angle interesting because it almost makes me forget how modern the world around the lot is. This was taken on September 30th, 2018.

Caption 2: This shot was taken in Scott Park on the corner of Healey and 3rd St in Champaign, Illinois, USA on October 3rd, 2018. This is one of the only places in the Champaign-Urbana area that has no sign of any human activity.

Caption 3: This is a close up shot of a group of red flowers in a flowerpot in my mothers (Diane Miller) garden at home. This was taken in the Logan Square neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois, USA on September 30th, 2018.

Caption 4: Luna, my Portuguese Water Dog who is eight years old, poses in front of my home in the Logan Square neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois, USA on September 30th, 2018. One notable feature of her coat of fur is her front left paw is all white, and it is often mistaken for a leg cast. Her name is Luna because up until her 1st birthday she had a moon like shape around her nose on her snout.

For this assignment I choose to document the process of making funfetti cake. I documented this at my apartment in Champign, Illinois, USA on October 16th, 2018.

These photos showcase the Community United Church of Christ at 805 S 6th St, Champaign, IL, USA. Taken on October 14th, 2018 right after sunrise. While it is practically in the middle on campus at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign I feel it is often over looked by most by passers. This collection of photos showcases the many angles and nuances of the building itself.

In this day and age, almost everyone is on social media. While useful at times, it can also sometimes set unrealistic expectations. It can lead people to question wether a picture is a “truthful” or “fake” perception of someones life. Here I show the fake things people can post to make there lives seem more exciting than they actually are. While I am posting a picture of me on vacation in Aruba, I am actually in my bedroom in Champaign. This series of photos was taken on November 7th, 2018 in my apartment in Champaign, Illinois, USA.

This semester I have been working as a communications intern at the Family Resiliency Center on campus at the University of Illinois. On September 4th, 2018 was the first day of the first annual 1,000 days symposium. Around twelve Graduate and PhD candidates, in the college of human development and family studies, presented their research to all who attended. All of their research had to do with children in the first 1,000 days of their life, ranging from topics like breast milk to schooling. In attendance was the staff of the Family Resiliency Center at the University of Illinois, researchers at the University of Illinois, professors of the college, and anyone who was interested in the topic. These photographs showcase the part of the symposium where attendees walked around to see all of  Graduate and PhD candidates research.

For this assignment I decided to re visit assignment 5 and take some more architecture photos. I love finding hidden gems on campus and exploring a buildings beauty. These photos are of Doris Kelley Christopher Hall, aka the Family Resiliency Center on campus. This semester I have had the pleasure of interning here as a marketing and communications intern. The address of where these photos were taken is 904 W Nevada St Urbana, IL, United States. They were take on November 30th, 2018.

This photo was taken in Lincoln, Illinois, USA on November 22nd, 2018. I choose this as my self portrait because it is one of my favorite pictures of myself. The pants I am wearing in this picture are also my favorite pattern and pants to wear regularly.

This pictures was taken at Bayles Lake in Loda, Illinois, USA on November 3rd, 2018. This lake is a get-away place for my family, which my mom has been coming to since she was kid. Whenever I'm at the lake I feel a sort of peace I have never felt any where else. When I'm there I'm always happy and at ease.
